In recognition of International Women’s Day, organizers of ACT Expo (and publisher of ACT News), announced the 5th Annual Women in Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Summit, taking place May 1 at the Long Beach Convention Center.
In an era of rapidly shifting technology, demographics, and policy trends, it is critical that the advanced clean transportation industry have effective leadership to successfully navigate the changing transportation landscape. While many industries are struggling to attract the necessary talent and react to this dynamism, the female workforce presents an underutilized, high-potential talent pool from which to draw. Research has shown that diversity within companies, from entry level to c-suite and boards of directors, leads to higher performance, higher returns, and higher employee satisfaction.
Hear from women that are transforming the transportation sector on how our industry can attract more women, increasing the diversity of perspectives, improving the bottom line, and cleaning up our roadways. Speakers include:
- Heather Tomley, director of environmental planning at the Port of Long Beach, who oversees the Port of Long Beach’s signature environmental programs
- Lisa Alexander, vice president of customer solutions and communications at SoCalGas, who will provide insight into the role of the utility in advancing clean transportation
- Lauren Skiver, chief executive officer & general manager of SunLine Transit, who has 20 years of industry experience and who formerly served in the US Army.
