According to a press release sent out by Trevor Milton’s team, the Nikola founder has been granted a full pardon by President Donald Trump. Trevor had been serving a four-year prison term after being convicted of misrepresenting the company’s zero-emission truck technology to investors.

“This pardon is not just about me — it’s about every American who has been railroaded by the government, and unfortunately, that’s a lot of people,” said Milton in the statement.

Milton went on to highlight what he called “systemic issues” within the nation’s justice system, focusing on the Southern District of New York State.

“It is no wonder why trust and confidence in the Justice Department has eroded to nothing. I wish judges would stop believing whatever the prosecutors feed them so Americans could trust the justice system again. Until that happens, our justice system will continue to erode until there is nothing left,” said Milton.

As of this writing, the White House has not released any statement on the pardon.

Milton will also be releasing a documentary on the events that led up to the conviction.
