The North American Council on Freight Efficiency (NACFE) and RMI Electric Truck Bootcamp series is close to the finish line, with just three more sessions to go in this engaging and electrifying series covering the trucking industry’s transition to a zero-emissions tomorrow.
NACFE and RMI designed the series with “fast followers” in mind — fleets that have yet to dip their toes in the electric vehicle (EV) pool but are more than just a little curious. The series was created to increase awareness of electric trucks throughout the industry, provide professional development opportunities for fleet decision-makers, offer quick takeaways and recommendations from NACFE and RMI’s efforts on electric trucks, and bring together both fleets and key industry stakeholders to discuss both the opportunities and challenges they will face when deploying electric vehicles.
The webinar series is close to the finish line, with just three more sessions to go.
The series has tapped into a number of hot topics, from planning your EV fleet buildout to training your maintenance team on how to work with this emerging technology. And for those that are new to the series, you can watch recordings of all the webinars and register for the upcoming sessions:

Next Up: ACT Expo
While the series will end on August 24, less than a week before the 2021 ACT Expo, the industry will have a chance to get an even deeper dive into the topic during the Driving Advancements in Electric Trucks via Run on Less – Electric Workshop session on Monday, August 30, at 3 p.m. The workshop will officially kickoff the Run on Less – Electric, a three-week demonstration that will showcase electric trucks in everyday operation. The ACT Expo workshop will be broken up into a handful of sessions:
3:00pm – 3:10pm: Introduction and Welcome Remarks
3:10pm – 3:30pm: Electric Trucks – Cynics & Believers
Interactive activity to identify key challenges and opportunities related to electric truck deployments.
3:30pm – 3:50pm: Electric Truck Insights & What to Expect from Run on Less – Electric
NACFE will share their latest insights, including key takeaways from the 10-part Electric Truck Bootcamp and lessons learned from RoL-E participant site visits this summer. They’ll also provide a sneak peek at what to expect from RoL-E this fall.
3:50pm – 4:20pm: Crowd-Sourcing Bold Ideas
We want to hear from YOU – What needs to happen to accelerate electric truck adoption? Building on the barriers identified earlier in the workshop, we’ll crowd-source participants’ best ideas for moving the industry toward a zero-emission future. We’ll then collectively and anonymously prioritize these ideas to identify the top options worth advancing.
4:20pm – 4:45pm: Advancing Top Ideas
Stick around to help flesh out the top ideas identified during the crowd-sourcing portion. Connect with colleagues interested in the same ideas to pinpoint key stakeholders and decision makers, prototype action plans, and discuss next steps. Your input will not only help guide NACFE’s work and ensure that it benefits your organization, but who knows — it could change the world.
Sign up today for the remainder of the Electric Truck Bootcamp, and be sure to register for this year’s ACT Expo to get even more insight into this innovative showcase of electric trucks in operation.
