According to the U.S. Department of Energy, the average range of electric vehicles (EVs) reached a record high this past year.
The range for model year 2024 EVs averaged 283 miles per charge, an increase of 13 miles from the previous model year and four times higher than 2011. Currently, the 2022 Lucid Air sedan sits are the top of the EV list, with an EPA-certified maximum range of 520 miles per charge.

An earlier report from the DOE highlighted the fact that EVs get 53-140 miles per gallon equivalent (MPGe) compared to gasoline vehicles’ range of 9-57 MPG for model year 2024, which includes traditional hybrid vehicles.
