ACT Expo will welcome John O’Leary, president and CEO of Daimler Truck North America (DTNA), to the stage as its opening keynote speaker at the 12thannual show, May 1-4, 2023, at the Anaheim Convention Center in Southern California.
O’Leary’s keynote on Monday, May 1, will be followed by the debut of the 2023 State of Sustainable Fleets market brief report, which will highlight key trends and the ever-increasing clean vehicle adoption plans of fleets across the nation. Along with Shell and Penske Transportation Solutions, DTNA is both a presenting sponsor of ACT Expo and the State of Sustainable Fleets report.
DTNA is North America’s largest manufacturer of Class 5-8 commercial vehicles and aims to offer an exclusively CO2-neutral new vehicle product line by 2039. O’Leary will discuss the ways DTNA is supporting the nation’s fleet in the drive for increased environmental sustainability, and explain the pressing need for more zero-emission fueling and charging infrastructure, which must scale rapidly across North America to match the need for more zero-emission hydrogen and battery-electric medium- and heavy-duty trucks.
Additionally, O’Leary will set the stage for the reveal of a new battery-electric vehicle from DTNA taking place in the ACT Expo exhibit hall on May 2.
“The pace of transition to CO2-neutral trucking depends directly on how fast fueling and charging infrastructure can be built, and that must be a focus,” said O’Leary. “ACT Expo is the perfect place to energize partnerships and projects to make that happen, and I look forward to sharing our vision and collaborating with fleets and industry stakeholders to make significant progress.”
DTNA includes the Detroit, Freightliner, Freightliner Customer Chassis (FCCC), Thomas Built Buses and Western Star brands, and is a leading developer of electric, autonomous, and connected technologies for medium- and heavy-duty vehicles. At ACT Expo, the company will showcase its latest battery-electric vehicles, including its Freightliner eCascadia Class 8 tractor, Freightliner eM2 Class 6 truck, and FCCC Mt50e walk-in van.
“We are thrilled to have John join us as our opening keynote speaker this year at ACT Expo and look forward to hearing from one of the most influential leaders in the industry about some of the major trends in the clean transportation sector,” said Erik Neandross, CEO at Gladstein, Neandross & Associates (GNA), the producers of ACT Expo. “It is exciting to see the broad and growing array of cutting-edge zero-emission products that DTNA is delivering to their customers as the industry works collaboratively towards an ultimate goal of decarbonization.”
The four-day, fleet-focused agenda at ACT Expo will spotlight the dramatic acceleration taking place across the advanced transportation and clean energy sectors. Attendees will gain insights into:
- The growing availability of low- and zero-emission vehicles and technologies;
- Increased availability and consumption of renewable low carbon fuels;
- Financial incentives, policies, regulations, and other initiatives to rapidly expand clean fueling and charging infrastructure;
- The rapid acceleration in corporate sustainability commitments, and more.
The expansive exhibit hall at the Anaheim Convention Center will showcase nearly 200 advanced commercial vehicles spanning all weight classes, applications, and fuel types, including battery-electric, hydrogen fuel cell, propane, and natural gas vehicles, along with autonomous and connected technologies and renewable fuels.
