GNA, a TRC company and organizers of the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo, is excited to announce the inaugural ACT Shipper-Carrier Connect event, taking place May 22-23, 2024, in Las Vegas, Nevada, co-located with ACT Expo, to unite shippers, carriers, and logistics providers to shape the future of sustainable freight. This dynamic event will showcase how effective collaboration can enable shippers and carriers to achieve shared economic and environmental sustainability goals.
Sustainability is a new business priority for freight and logistics companies. More than 95% of S&P 500 companies publish sustainability reports and over 4,000 companies have set science-based targets, many that will require partnerships with logistics providers to achieve. Increasing regulatory pressures to reduce the air and climate impacts of freight have combined with a proliferation of additional funding sources for clean vehicle technologies and voluntary sustainability goals by shippers, creating a new market reality for the nation’s freight carriers.
This new market reality, further combined with improved vehicle availability and improved total cost of ownership for some advanced technology vehicles, has enabled freight carriers of all sizes to run cleaner than ever before, and this greater availability of clean transport options presents an array of choices for shippers. ACT Shipper-Carrier Connect will convene the primary stakeholders in the North American road freight value chain for a forum to discuss this new market reality and to set a path forward that meets the growing need by shippers for sustainable progress by their freight partners.
“Today, many of the nations’ largest brands and beneficial cargo owners have set goals for decarbonizing their supply chain and look to their transportation partners to join them,” says Nate Springer, VP of Market Development with GNA, a TRC company. “Until now, there has been no centralized forum where global shippers, carriers, and logistics providers in road freight and warehousing can come together to comprehend challenges and explore solutions specific to the North American market and chart a sustainable path forward.”
Featured speakers will include leading sustainability-minded shippers and logistics leaders who are early adopters of clean technology. The shippers are helping to shape an engaging day and a half of discussions with their carriers and logistics partners on setting and tracking progress against sustainability goals, especially greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction goals.
Attendees from across the logistics community will also learn about leading carriers’ firsthand investments and experiences with near-zero and zero-emission technologies and renewable fuels. Participants will reveal how those efforts can translate into demonstrating progress towards shippers’ sustainability goals. Fleets and freight forwarders who need to better understand their customers’ needs, benchmark against others in the industry, and learn best practice for sustainability strategies and reporting should attend.
Who should attend:
- Shippers: Own products and are the sellers in a commercial transaction.
