The two companies recently announced the MoreCircular program, an end-to-end solution that begins with the collection of used lubricants from Castrol MoreCircular customers. The used oil is re-processed and combined with Castrol’s cutting-edge technology to blend premium lubricants, resulting in an estimated 20-40% lower carbon footprint* compared to Castrol’s traditional products.
*Cradle-to-gate lifecycle carbon intensities, including the estimated 20-40% reduction referred to above, have been estimated and assessed by independent carbon footprinting consultancy Environmental Resources Management (ERM). ERM has confirmed that all estimates and assessments conducted by ERM are carried out in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Product Life Cycle Accounting & Reporting Standard. Emissions factors used for both re-refined and virgin base oils are proxy values supplied by ERM.
