Established in Cumming, Georgia, in 2023, the new ABM Electrification Center houses the company’s eMobility headquarters and EV training operations. The first of its kind, 43,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility monitors reliability, trains the next generation of EV technicians, and serves as a proving ground for emerging technologies. Here, ABM manages and monitors each client’s EV network, chargers, and infrastructure 24/7 to anticipate and prevent any disruption in service. Other features of the new center:

  • Warehouse for ABM EV chargers, EV OEM spare parts and pre-commissioning
  • Technician training and EV workforce development program
  • Specialized facility for advanced repair support services
  • Indoor EV charging development and testing lab to support vehicle interoperability testing
  • Exterior EV charging hub for DC Level-3 and AC Level-2 chargers

Alongside the development of the Electrification Center, the company has also launched its new “ABM Certified EV Charger Technician” program—a pioneering OEM-agnostic training program. Consisting of three tiers of certification and bringing together world-class ABM service and maintenance, the new training model channels ABM’s understanding of EV charging in order to fully develop the next generation of EV service technicians.

ABM’s EV Operating System (OS) offers a complete solution to energy efficiency and resiliency. The EVOS combination of power and load management capabilities — part of part of the company’s grid-interactive and turn-key micro-grid systems from RavenVolt — brings multiple systems together to make fleet EV operations for ABM clients more manageable.

This is yet another example of ABM’s ever-deepening commitment to the electrification, ongoing support and sustainability of our nation’s transportation systems.

ABM knows how important energy resources are when planning to deploy public fleet EV. Where EV startups often focus only on the output (the charger), ABM begins with the fundamental inputs of good facility management. It’s what ABM has done for 50+ years. Smart facility managers understand EVSE isn’t so much a “new standalone addition” but rather one more component that must fit their load, budget and facility strategy. This is where ABM delivers, especially in the area of power management and power resource integrity and manageability from planning to installation and ongoing operations.

The right EV solution should include everything from the vehicles you choose, to financing, charging stations, electrical infrastructure, maintenance and a long-term plan for smart fleet growth. ABM ensures that you make the best choices today as you transition to a mixed fleet of electric and non-electric vehicles, while allowing for flexibility as the country moves to electrification.

Fleets of all sizes partner with ABM, each with unique needs. ABM’s scale, breadth of expertise and proven experience working with public and private sector stakeholders helps expedite the process and plan for the future.
