As President & Chief Executive Officer of BREATHE Southern California, Mr. Carrel manages the day-to-day operations and provides strategic direction for the organization. He assumed this role in 2017 after working on air quality and clean technology issues for nearly a decade at the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD), Southern California’s clean air agency. Prior to SCAQMD, Mr. Carrel served in several senior government roles, including as California’s Assistant Secretary of State for Policy and Planning, Senior Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor, and Deputy Chief of Staff to the Ranking Member on the House Intelligence Committee.
