For the past six years, the first Wednesday in October has taken on a special meaning in the Golden State.

California Clean Air Day is your opportunity to take meaningful action for a healthier, cleaner state. On this day, thousands of individuals, businesses, nonprofits, schools, and cities across California come together to improve our air quality by attending Clean Air Day events and taking the Clean Air Day Pledge, created and promoted by the Coalition for Clean Air. Whether it’s biking to work, planting trees, switching to eco-friendly products, or advocating for better policies, every small action counts toward cleaner air for everyone.

With microgrants supporting community-led initiatives and Clean Air Day events happening across the state, this is your chance to be part of a growing movement from wherever you are. Events range from educational workshops to street fairs and planting projects on and around Clean Air Day. Find one near you to attend at cleanairday.org/events.

Small business owners, nonprofits, cities, schools, and corporations are all encouraged to participate in their own way. California Clean Air Day offers easy actions you can take from home, school, or work; And when you take the pledge at cleanairday.org/pledge, you’ll get a certificate and shareable graphics to show off your commitment to clean air!
