With the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo set to be the biggest commercial fleet event of the year, Amy Davis, president of Accelera™ by Cummins, was recently confirmed as the opening keynote address for the third day of the 12th annual event, taking place May 1-4, 2023, at the Anaheim Convention Center in Southern California.

Davis will share how Accelera, Cummins Inc.’s zero-emission technology brand, is accelerating the shift to sustainable commercial transportation and scaling the required infrastructure. During her keynote on Wednesday, May 3, she will highlight Accelera’s broad portfolio of electrification and hydrogen technologies, explain why the business is not committing to a single solution and discuss how the industry must shift to successfully decarbonize demanding duty cycles in an economically viable way.

“Accelera by Cummins is leading customers through the energy transition with the broadest portfolio of zero-emission, zero-carbon solutions available –from electrolyzers that produce hydrogen, to fuel cells that run on hydrogen and the batteries and electrified components that complete a zero-emission powertrain,” Davis said. “We are innovating on both ends of the chicken-and-egg scenario to drive adoption and demand and ultimately accelerate the shift to a sustainable future. I’m excited to be at ACT Expo this year to share how we’re partnering with customers and securing a sustainable future for the industries that keep the world running.”

Cummins launched Accelera in March as the next step in its Destination Zero sustainability strategy. Accelera’s 2,000-plus employees will continue to advance breakthrough technologies and accelerate Cummins’ progress in reducing emissions over the past 25 years.

Notable projects underway at Accelera include supplying a 90-megawatt proton exchange membrane electrolyzer system in Quebec, Canada, which will provide green hydrogen used to turn non-recyclable waste into biofuels; and powering a new fleet of 1,000 electric school buses across the U.S. during the next 12-18 months to prevent 10,600 metric tons of harmful carbon emissions.

Indiana-based Cummins, a global power technology leader, designs, manufactures, distributes and services a broad portfolio of power solutions. The company’s products range from internal combustion, electric and hybrid integrated power solutions and components including filtration, aftertreatment, turbochargers, fuel systems, controls systems, air handling systems, automated transmissions, electric power generation systems and microgrid controls.

“We are excited to welcome Amy to ACT Expo as she leads a new era for Cummins through the Accelera brand,” said Erik Neandross, CEO at Gladstein, Neandross & Associates (GNA), the producers of ACT Expo. “As a trusted global technology provider for innovative zero-emission solutions, Cummins is laying the foundation for a new green energy economy that is ready to make clean power the new normal.”

ACT Expo will showcase nearly 200 advanced commercial vehicles spanning all weight classes, applications, and fuel types, including battery-electric, hydrogen fuel cell, propane, and natural gas vehicles, along with autonomous and connected technologies and renewable fuels. Projected to draw more than 10,000 attendees, ACT Expo is the largest conference and trade show in North America highlighting the most advanced transportation technologies and clean fuels available in the marketplace today.
