The South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD) introduced the Warehouse Indirect Source Rule (ISR) to improve air quality in communities near large distribution centers that have significant emissions from medium- and heavy-duty vehicles.
Warehouses operators with more than 100,000 sq ft located in the greater Los Angeles area will have to begin tracking and offsetting emissions impacts from Class 2b-8 truck trips that occur at the warehouse. The more diesel trucks that visit a warehouse, the more emissions mitigation actions the warehouse must take—and the financial impacts can be significant.
